Hi I work for Age Cocern in Eastbourne and one of our activities that has taken off here is Computer Lessons. Because of this we have had a lot of requests from our clients to help set up computers in their own homes. I am a little worried about what we should and should not be doing and would love to here from other organisations that do run this service.
you may need to look at lone worker risks and set up a code system for reporting back in within a certain time frame
hi deborah do you mean in terms of risk assessment? volunteering england have a good risk assessment tool kit which you can use on their webiste in resources if so....
Thanks for that. I have completed a risk assessment and can see all sorts of problems coming but was interested to know if any one does the same service and have found ways around them. I realise there is a market for this service, but I want to protect our volunteers and the charity.
Volunteering Australia have got a really good risk assesment guide as well http://www.volunteeringaustralia.org/html/s02_article/article_view.asp?id=129&nav_cat_id=164&nav_top_id=61
