Are you interested in building effective corporate volunteering partnerships that go beyond staff led fundraising events and painting the office walls? This interactive event will focus on how to develop and maintain a successful corporate or employer-supported volunteering programme for your organisation. During the session, the speakers will discuss ways to identify and communicate with potential corporate partners; consider new and innovative volunteering opportunities that you can offer to local and national businesses; and develop strategies that will help you to manage and extend your corporate partnerships. They will share their experiences of building impactful corporate partnerships to demonstrate how this can be achieved in novel ways.

With guest speakers Helen Jones, Deputy CEO at Cambridge and District Citizens Advice; Dewi Thomas, CEO at Employee Volunteering and Romaine Maret, Senior Strategic Projects Manager at NSPCC.

About our Speakers

Helen Jones, Volunteer Development Manager, CAB PeterboroughHelen Jones – Cambridge and District Citizens Advice

Helen is the Deputy CEO at Cambridge and District Citizens Advice. Until December 2022, she was the Volunteer Development Manager at Citizens Advice Peterborough. In this previous role, she was responsible for building and delivering the volunteering strategy as well as the recruitment, training and ongoing management of our volunteers. Helen worked across the charity to ensure volunteers play an increasing role in the future work of the advice service, including the social policy, communications and advocacy. Helen led on external promotion of the charity brand by building links with local businesses, attending events and conferences, and delivering a programme of corporate volunteering. With an environmental and teaching background, Helen is passionate about encouraging people to share their skills and experiences, especially through voluntary work. Helen strives to engage with people and businesses from a range of backgrounds to think about how they can support their local community. Helen has more than 10 years’ experience of managing networks of volunteers, both remotely and face to face, within the charity sector.

Romain Maret, NSPCC

Romaine has worked & volunteered within the charity sector since 2008, and has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience that she applies within her current role as Senior Strategic Projects Manager at the NSPCC, leading a team to deliver NSPCC’s Corporate Volunteering & Pro Bono programme. Previous to this, Romaine was a Senior Corporate Account Manager at the NSPCC, managing relationships with major brands such as O2, Sky, Blakemore Retail, Lindt and more.
During her time within the charity sector she has held multiple Corporate Partnership roles within both national and local charities. She also has experience in Community Fundraising, Charity Retail, Individual Giving, Events Fundraising and Campaign Management. She has gained a level 5 apprenticeship in Leadership & Management and is currently working towards a Level 7 in Executive Leadership. Romaine is passionate about ED&I and plays an active role in NSPCC’s LGBTQ+ Staff Network, having held the roles of co-chair and network committee member.
