The National Occupational Standards for volunteer managers have been developed to encourage good management of volunteers.

The National Occupational Standards cover the following areas:

  • Developing and evaluating strategies and policies that support volunteering
  • Promoting volunteering
  • Recruit & induct volunteers
  • Managing and developing volunteers
  • Managing yourself, your relationships and your responsibilities
  • Providing management support for volunteering programmes
