b) Creativity and Meaning in Volunteer Reward and Recognition

This session will encourage you to think differently about your role as a supporter and motivator of volunteers. Charlotte will go back to basics to offer tips on how to inject energy into your engagement with your volunteers and how to understand what really motivates them. c) Embracing the age of opportunity – involving younger and older volunteers

This session will focus on innovative methods of attracting and engaging both young and older volunteers. Looking at research identifying volunteer trends of an ageing population and recent campaigns such as #Iwill and #1millionhours will provide the opportunity to explore new ideas to implement in your own organisations.

We will:

Set the scene of the campaigns including outcomes so far
Briefly touch upon the research into volunteer involvement for both young and older volunteers
Share learning from these campaigns and research, discussing opportunities to grow your volunteering programme
Facilitate discussions on a few topics e.g. replicating the learnings from the campaigns and research into own organisations, creating meaningful opportunities, challenges faced and how to overcome them in engaging young and older volunteers

e) The Current Corporate Volunteering Landscape – a Third Sector Perspective

Join us to share the findings of a sector-wide survey focused on corporate volunteering.

We will be discussing the current landscape and trends including sector attitudes. We will introduce the business case for engaging in corporate volunteering and the value it can add. We will also be sharing case studies of best practice and providing some top tips on making the most of corporate volunteering opportunities.

This is suitable for anyone looking to develop corporate volunteering or refine existing programmes of work at a strategic or delivery level.

f) How do you measure the impact of volunteering your organisation? Things to consider….

Sian and Chris from Citizens Advice will share how they measure the impact of their volunteers; the reasons, methodology and outcomes so far and what’s next.. They’ll talk about how the information has been used both internally and across the sector, to show the value of their volunteers. Working together in the session, we’ll look at the key elements of volunteer impact that you need to measure, understanding the reasons for measuring it and tips that you might need when getting going in this area.

g) Volunteer Information: From Data to Insight to Action

What information do those involved in the strategic development of volunteering find the most insightful to inform strategy and practice? What sorts of insight can volunteer information offer? How can you transform insight into tangible action?

During the seminar we will explore ways in which volunteer management metrics and volunteer survey data can contribute to your understanding of your volunteers, and how to maximise their contribution whilst maintaining a great volunteer experience.

We will share up to date information on our latest Volunteers Count benchmarking study and we will also have a guest speaker from a leading charity talking about how they make use of the results in their organisation to effect change.

Remember – if you are buying tickets for colleagues you can only buy tickets at the member rate for them if they are currently members.

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations must be received in writing (letter or email) and will be acknowledged in writing.
  • Cancellations received 40–20 days before the start of the event, regardless of date booked, will incur a 25% administration charge.
  • Cancellations received 19–0 days before the start of the event, regardless of date booked, will incur a 100% cancellation charge.
